Warped Tour a Star Breeder?

So, I was on my itunes listening to music when suddenly the song "Make Me Wanna' Die" by The Pretty Reckless, headed by Taylor Momsen, came on... and it got me thinking:

Is Warped Tour a star breeder? Or is the fame that comes with Warped Tour only limited, if it comes as at all? Because for many bands, it also seems to be the kiss of death.

For me, the fun of Warped Tour has always been walking around, buying random things, hearing new music, getting free stuff (and you get a TON!) dancing like an idiot, seeing attractive guys shirtless, and fearing for my life whenever I'm amongst a sea of "scene kids" or near a "mosh pit".

This year I happened to see Taylor Momsen, scantily dressed in her vintage studded lingerie, black bra and all, and although  I may not agree with the fact that someone younger than me is dressing like a twenty year old (I swear you could've fooled me), there's no doubt that this girl has drive, and talent too...Though, I do admit that she had quite a head start by 1. Being very pretty and 2. Having a substantial role on Gossip Girl.

Despite these "leads" and slip ups she's had (ahem her wardrobe malfunction at some other warped tour concert involving certain "lady issues"...) she's not bad live, though the accent for no reason and random pink thing in her hand still confuses me...(Maybe its a stress ball???)

But anyways, back to the point. Perhaps there's a trend developing with these Warped Tour Headliners...
For I'm sure we're going to see a lot more of Taylor Momsen and her music in the coming months.
(Also watch out for Hey Monday, Mike Posner and such) ;)

Looking at my past experiences at different Warped tours, I'd say that maybe there is such a trend.

Katy Perry at Warped Tour '08.
Warped tour '08 was a time when when both Katy Perry, 3OH3!, Shwayze, Gym Class Heroes, Relient K, (all of whom played at Warped Tour that year) and others were either just starting to be played on the radio, or were not well known AT ALL....yet would somehow become famous within the next couple weeks, months, or years.

Yet I feel as though the only ones that truly made it big for longer than 15 minutes was Katy Perry, 3OH3!, and maybe Shwayze with their show on MTV "Buzzin'."

Feeling as though I practically witnessed their growth to stardom, I wonder why these particular people/bands made it to the top, for certainly Katy Perry, though funny, beautiful, and charismatic, has questionable live singing abilities...

Katy Perry at her tent, hers was right next to Shwayze.
So what do you think people?

Maybe its the magic blessing of Warped Tour.
Or maybe its the obvious fact that they're being seen by tons of people, and getting lots of publicity.

Either way I wonder if people like Taylor Momsen will have a similar Katy Perry fairytale like ending. Though, if not, I guess she always has Gossip Girl... :P

 Love, Rae. :)
Notice the huge line for "Pierce the Veil" (????) and practically no one at the 3OH3! Tent...
Oh how funnily the world works.

So does this make me a "blogger" now?

Oh god, here I am, a blogging virgin...

Guess that stage of innocence is over as I subject myself to the harsh world of the internet.

Yet, as judgmental and typically brutally honest as this world is, I've got to admit, its already kind of fun.
A sort of exhilarating feeling being able to share my thoughts with the world, unbarred.

Well, sort of. ;)

I see this as my outlet. And you, (yes, all one of you)  are invited along for the ride.

With all the fun that comes from the stress of college applications, high school drama, relationships, and the daily balancing act that most kids my age face, I've got a lot to say.

But no, this is not another gossip website about my life, or the lives around mine.
These are my opinions, as "tell it like it is" as they come. Be it about politics, the media, pop culture, new or old products, or yes, even the trivial problems I face at high school.

So here's me and my thoughts, unexposed and completely vulnerable to the harshness and judgement that comes with putting anything online.

Okay, you still with me? Good.

Thank you to the one solitary person that may have possibly stumbled upon this site and has not clicked away yet :P

So does this make me a "blogger" now? Probably not, but I'm sure I'll get there one day.
